A Farewell to Alms: A Brief Economic History of the World by Gregory Clark. I requested this book from my local library before I requested Guns, Germs & Steel. But the latter arrived long before the former.
Influence by Robert B. Cialdini was, overall, an interesting read. There were a few points where the science and proof devolved into unimpressive and unconvincing anecdotes. But as a whole, I enjoyed the book and learned something. Not sure I’ll be able to use the book’s information to be better able to sell The Journal, but it’s early yet. I haven’t had time to ruminate and cogitate yet.

Horse Girl – 1003 words
Maybe this book will finish up into something really cool. Today I kept feeling that it was important to finish. Maybe not for the book itself, nor for my niece whom I started it for. But for me.

Influence: Science and Practice by Robert B. Cialdini. I forget how I heard about this book. I requested it from the library a couple months ago and it finally arrived.
The Search for Order 1877-1920 by Robert H. Wiebe is another of those books I read slowly. Overall, I found the book fascinating. I think I have a much better understanding of the USA in the time period covered. And I can see how a lot of the issues that caused middle-class Americans anxiety in the late 19th century continued to stress them out throughout the 20th and into the 21st.

If I Don’t Write Today…
If I Don’t Write Today…
The world doesn’t end. (As it hasn’t ended on all the other days I haven’t written anything.)
Writers write–
But you can set your own schedule for it.
Don’t let other people guilt you about not writing. And for the love all things cute and cuddly, don’t guilt yourself. That’s the speedy route to depression and lack of motivation. Take a different way, I figure.
Make your own path.
Writers write. Because it’s a compulsion.

Horse Girl – 1086 words (Chapter 11)
I still haven’t decided whether I’ll finish Running Waters. In the meantime, I’m going to finish the Horse Girl project. Because any book that’s less than 10% from the ending should be finished. It’ll be good for me, I figure.

The Search for Order 1877-1920 by Robert H. Wiebe. A history book loaned to me by a friend. It’s interesting so far, though it talks at rather a high level.

Fantasy Hero: A Genre Book for Hero System Fifth Edition.
RPG books are always boring. Hero System RPG books seem to be about as boring as possible.
